Repayment Mortgage
An agreement with a mortgage lender to borrow a capital sum to fund the whole or part of the purchase price of an investment property or properties, whereby the accumulating interest and capital sum are both paid off within a set period of time, usually between 10 – 25 years. Mortgage repayments are usually made on a monthly basis, with payment figures being higher than on an interest-only mortgage as a portion of the capital sum borrowed is also being paid off.
