Some of these terms can have more than one meaning, so we have applied the definition which applies most closely to the context it will be applied for, relating to property investment. Financial Services Authority (FSA)

The Financial Services Authority (FSA) is an independent non-governmental body, given statutory powers by the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000. The main aims that the Financial Services Authority has are to promote efficient, orderly and fair markets and helping retail consumers to achieve a fair deal. Property investors may come across mortgage/loan lenders, mortgage brokers and independent financial advisors who could all be regulated by the Financial Services Authority.
